Jamestown 2007 African American Signature Events
Provided marketing an public relations support and consultation for the African American Signature events of the 400th Commemoration of the establishment of the first successful English colony in America at Jamestown, VA. The signature events included The State of Black America Conference conducted by Tavis Smiley, African Imprint Day at the Jamestown Settlement and the acquisition of an African Artifact as part of the Jamestown Settlement permanent collection.

Virginia Black Expo
Providing marketing consultation and support for the Virginia Black Expo including product design, sponsorship acquisition and strategic partnership development.

Virginia Arts Festival
Providing marketing consultation and support for the Virginia Arts Festival and the Attucks Theatre including audience development, promotion and advertising services.

UNCF State of Virginia

Managed the public relations issues and strategy related to urban development issues and location of new sanctuary.

Fish Bowl Classic Inc. and High School Band Parade Competiton
Handled all marketing and public relations for the 54th-60th Annual Fish Bowl Classics resulting in increased sponsor support, media, ticket sales, game attendance and hotel room nights.

Powhatan County Partners in Prevention of Non-Marital Births
Researched and devised a county specific media strategy for the county’s non-marital birth prevention initiative.

City of Norfolk
Conducted community-input sessions on the introduction of the city’s branding theme, “Life. Celebrated Daily” and mermaid logo

Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority
Conducted strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats analysis for the Stonebridge Crossing upscale housing subdivision marketing effort. Currently providing marketing consultation for the Broad Creek Community development project.

Hampton Roads Transit
Monitored and critiqued public briefings on area light rail project. Arranged advocate relationships, forums and information sessions. Conducted comprehensive operations analysis telephone and route surveys. Responsible for the light rail project public outreach and public involvement activities in the City of Norfolk.

William A. Hunton YMCA-Norfolk, VA
Arranged and conducted community meetings to gain financial support for the oldest independent African American YMCA in the country. Gained a front page story in the Wall Street Journal.

United Way-Hampton Roads, VA
Conducted SWOT analysis and marketing session for United Way organizations for the United Way of Hampton Roads.

District Cablevision
Conducted pre and post cable television construction community meetings in Washington D.C...

Virginia Beach NAACP
Conceived designed and implemented membership marketing strategy that generated $9,000 in membership fees and donations in 3 weeks. Conducted strategic analysis and planning sessions with the organization.

Urban League of Hampton Roads
Advised and consulted the organizing committee for the 2000-2007 Martin Luther King Community Leaders Breakfasts.

National Black Achievers YMCA USA
Conducted marketing and public relations seminar for the National Black Achievers YMCA USA conference in Daytona Beach.

Norfolk Baseball Company
Worked on the project to bring a Major League Baseball team to Norfolk. The effort moved Norfolk to the number two position behind Washington DC by generating over 90 corporate box commitments and close to 10,000 season tickets sold and national exposure.

Designed, planned and marketed a full charter to Barbados, BWI
Contracting with BWIA, filled to a capacity a charter of 108 African American tourists for an 8 day 7 nights, visit to the Barbados at the Holiday Inn Barbados from New York City.

Umoja Festival-Portsmouth, VA
Arranged radio promotions in Raleigh and Richmond to promote visits to the area for the event, 1999.

Crispus Attucks Cultural Center/Virginia Arts Festival
Providing marketing consultation, public relations and promotional activities as a performance and tourist venue for this historic theater complex in Downtown Norfolk.

Norfolk Convention and Visitors Bureau
Planned, negotiated and placed radio promotion of AFRAM Fest’ 99 in Raleigh, NC and Baltimore-Washington metro areas. Provided information resource support for 1999 African American Fam tour. Currently consultant on African American Tourism.

Norfolk State University
Helped facilitate college tour visit for African American students organized by elected officials in New York City to the campus. Conceived, arranged and conducted high speed Internet demonstrations for the 1995 Mass Communications Conference. Conducted intercept, e-mail and focus group research for the formulation of the University’s marketing department design and strategy. Authored the marketing department design and marketing director position description.

Peninsula Partners in Prevention of Non-marital Births
Conducted SWOT analysis for the coalition, devised marketing strategy and a copy point. Conducted community briefing on the coalition’s objectives and media campaign. Designed an award winning campaign using various media including transit advertising.
